Far Cry 3 is an open-world FPS set on a tropical island. In traditional Far Cry style, players use a variety of weapons and vehicles to explore a vast area and uncover the sinister secrets of a criminal gang.

Island holiday

With slavers and madmen running amok, players must fight for survival on the lawless island in any way they can. Meeting a strange man named Vaas, you travel through a land invested with gun-wielding maniacs. The choice on how, or even whether or not to, take out the slavers is up to you. A huge variety of guns from machine guns to flamethrowers are available, with custom ability options available. Far Cry 3 is one of the best modern versions of the popular franchise with an engaging world and tons to explore. While the graphics are slightly dated, the impressive fighting system is still a delight. Co-op and multiplayer are available and popular despite the release of Far Cry 4.

Solid FPS action

Far Cry 3 is a great choice for fans of the genre. The sheer amount of secrets and unlockables mean players can sink hours and hours into the exploration of the islands and still find new content behind every corner. While the graphics are slightly dated, it isn't a real concern. Multiplayer is somewhat worse than the single player campaign. Overall, a real treat.
